Hi ladies, welcome back! I wanted to share a post dedicated to the morning routine. I’ll be sharing mine below, but wanted to first give you some insight on what it’s all about. Of course we know all about the #ThatGirl trend on social media, primarily on TikTok which has mainly inspired women to post all about their morning routines. You may think it’s cringe or doesn’t do much, but I’ll tell you ladies, whether you post about it or not, crafting a morning routine that’s right for you does indeed impact your life.
Like I mentioned in my previous post, allowing yourself “me time” before you start your day, in a sense, puts yourself first before anyone each day – it allows you to breathe and become more mindful of your presence, your thoughts, and sets you up on a positive note for the remainder of your day. Trust me, you’ll end up feeling refreshed, revitalized, and motivated throughout the day!
A big part of that “routine” however, is getting up early – whether it’s 5am, 6am, 7am or even 8am just allowing yourself that couple of hours before you actually need to be up and working really helps. Here below you will find my morning routine and hope it helps guide you in creating yours!
5:45 am – Alarm goes off (I use the SleepCycle app so that it allows me to wake up easily during a time period from 5:40 to 6:15am) If you have trouble getting up, you will find that you’re getting up at the wrong phase of your sleep cycle. We sleep in 90-minute cycles and it’s important to keep that in mind for when you should be getting up vs going to bed. Here’s a good link to check when you should set your alarm for.
6:00 am – Chug a glass of lemon water to replenish from the night before and make the bed (your first win for the day) and journal for 5 minutes (in my 5min journal of course – will share more on this later)

6:30 am – Do your full morning skincare routine (I’ll share more on this in a separate post in the beauty section of my blog – stay tuned!)

7:00 am – Morning workout on my yoga mat at home (I use the WorkoutWomen app primarily, but you do you girl! I use Bala Bangles and 5lb weights as well.
8:00 am – Meditation session (I use the insight timer app but you can also use whatever is best – I heard Calm and Headspace work great too!)
8:30 am – Make breakfast (I usually go for pancakes, smoothie, oats, eggs, etc.) and coffee of course! (I’m an espresso gal in the mornings, usually followed by an early afternoon coffee break). Sometimes additionally, I will make a fresh juice in my juicer! (I’ll share some recipes, and insight on that in a separate post as well.

9:00 am – Read a chapter of my book I’m reading and take vitamins for the day

9:30 am – Log on for the day and get working!
Anyways, it’s all up to you to decide what you want to spend time on for yourself in your morning as long as you make the time to do it and put yourself first – you will be happier instead of scrambling around burnt out after a long day of work and all you want to do is lie down and go to bed. Take a quiet moment before the sun rises to do the things you want to do for yourself at peace, and at your own pace.
Xoxo – That Girl
